Leaving Skellingthorpe Old Wood behind, I now make my way to the Fossdyke Canal, a stunning and tranquil stretch of water that’s been in place since the 11th century.
This historic canal is a great spot to enjoy a peaceful walk and take in the wonderful scenery of the Lincolnshire countryside.
The Fossdyke Canal is an impressive 5 miles long, and it’s still used for navigation today. You can take a leisurely stroll along the towpath, admiring the waterways, the wildlife, and the many locks and bridges.

Next on my Lincolnshire tour, I’m heading to Washingborough Nature Reserve. It’s a peaceful haven of natural beauty where I can marvel at the diverse wildlife and explore the lush, green rolling hills.
