The barbeque area at Thorndon Country Park can be found just off the A128 Brentwood Road, Brentwood, CM13 3LW.
The park is open from 08.00 until dusk and closing times will be displayed on site. We do our best to ensure the site is open but sometimes, after bad weather for example, the ground conditions will not be suitable. Please visit Thorndon Country Park on Facebook for the latest information before you travel.
There is limited space in the barbecue area and places are given on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no guarantee of entry. Unfortunately, coach parking is not available on site.
You will find a grassy area for barbecues, toilets, a café, drinking water stand-pipes and bins for disposing of ash on site. There are also beautiful walks into the woods and around the lake.
You need to bring your own barbecue and it must have legs so the grass underneath is not burned. Please make sure you collect all your rubbish during your visit and place it in the large wheeled bins provided.
We ask all visitors to follow the Barbecue Code which is displayed on site and to respect the park and its wildlife.
Music is not allowed at Thorndon Country Park. This includes the playing of instruments and amplified music. Our Country Parks are for the enjoyment of everyone so please be considerate of others when visiting the site.
