Cressing Temple closure and restricted access days

At Cressing temple, there may be restricted access due to private functions or setting-up days leading up to the events. Please call us in advance of your arrival to confirm if the grounds are open to visitors to avoid disappointment. On event days there may be admission fees (it’s usually free). Please note the following for restricted access / chargeable entrance dates. 

 

10 June - Langfjorðs Sliehtwulfas Training Day

8 July  - Helen Rollason Vintage Fair

14 & 15 July - Essex Festival of Food & Drink

4 & 5 August - Essex Craftmanship Show

29 & 30 September  - Oakleigh Autumn Fair

3 & 4 November - Oakleigh Christmas Fair 

On days when private functions are taking place, there may be limited access to the Walled Garden & Barns

8 April  & 7 October - Wedding Open Days 11am to 3pm

26 May, 2 June, 23 June, 30 June, 21 July, 28 July 10 August, 11 August, 18 August, 21 August, 25 August, 1 September, 7 September, 8 September, 14 September - Wedding 12pm to 12 am - Weddings 12pm to 12am.

Tiptree Tea Rooms remain open and free to enter. In the days leading up events, there may be heavy vehicles moving around the site, so views may be restricted. When the site is completely closed to the public, this is done for health and safety reasons whilst event structures are being erected/dismantled and there is a lot of vehicle movement on site
