Spinning Workshop

Cressing Temple

Back To Events Dashy the sheep

Spinning is a traditional and versatile skill that is not only a great addition to any textile or knitting crafts but also a relaxing and therapeutic pastime. Learn how to spin wool yourself starting from the very beginning with meeting the sheep and moving through carding, spinning, finishing and finger braiding. The price includes your own drop spindle to take home and keep, as well as all the fleece you require.

Led by Helen Bruce, previous Farm Manager and medieval re-enactor, this course is practical and hands on in the beautiful setting of Cressing Temple. With limited spaces available, we advise you to book early on this workshop.

Please dress for a crisp winters day, wear sturdy shoes, and either bring along a packed lunch or provision to buy lunch in the onsite Tiptree Barns tearoom. Parking is free.
