Belhus Woods Community Fun Day

Belhus Woods Country Park

Back To Events A little girl holds a daisy

Join us for our best ever Community Fun Day at Belhus Woods Country Park. With a selection of craft stalls, outdoor games, tasty food vendors and our popular Fun Family Dog Show, everyone is bound to be entertained.

We're delighted to welcome regulars and new visitors to come along and celebrate what our local community has to offer and take the chance to enjoy a relaxing day outdoors with friends and family. Scoff and Nosh will be bringing along their delicious burgers, plus Scoff and Sip will be there with their gorgeous vintage inspired ice cream van. The fantastic DISCOvery events vehicle will be onsite providing music and commentary on our Dog Show and Have a Go Sheep Show. Plus meet the local sea cadets, join Tom the Ranger on a guided woodland walk and have photo opportunities with larger than life characters.

The South Essex Bowmen will be offering free have-a go archery throughout the event and our huge selection of outdoor toys and games will available for you to use on our events field. Interesting local stalls will include: handmade hair bows, Forever Living, Phoenix Trading, gemstone jewellery, tombola, nature photography, sweet cones and Usborne Books. Children can make sand art and have their face painted, or all the family can have a hand drawn caricature created by our onsite artist. Meet the volunteers from the Essex Bat Group and South Essex Wildlife hospital and learn more about what they do, as well as finding out more about the wildlife they care for.

Fun Family Dog Show Classes include Best Puppy, Young Handler and Best Veteran, and all classes can be entered for just £1 on the day. Winners of each class will receive a rosette and the overall Best in Show will be given an engraved trophy to take home and keep.

The Fun Day is free to enter, and if you're coming by car there's a reduced parking fee of £2 all day on our events parking field. Dogs on leads are extremely welcome and you may either bring along your own picnic or buy food and drink from our onsite vendors or Café. Toilets are located adjacent to our Visitor Centre.
