Escape to the parks

Back To News

From wildlife spotting at Marsh Farm to finding the Gruffalo at Thorndon, there is something for everyone at Essex Country Parks. But don’t just take our word for it, come and find out for yourself. It’s free, it’s relaxing, and it’s right on your doorstep.

Space to explore, relax and enjoy
Escape the stresses of everyday life and head to the great outdoors. Leave daily stresses behind and take a stroll along accessible and maintained footpaths, see beautiful wildflowers and discover new and sometimes rare wildlife. Make time to relax and take it all in at one of our visitor centres with drinks and tasty snacks. With some breathtaking viewpoints, come and recharge your batteries and find space to breathe.

Space to let your imagination run wild
If you are searching for a day out in Essex with the kids this summer, look no further. Essex Country Parks are places to play, get close to nature and make memories that last a lifetime. With interactive play trails and plenty of open space, they are perfect for creating a magical escape for the whole family. Build a den in the woodlands, climb trees, roll down hills, fly a kite or see what you can find hiding in the undergrowth.

A full calendar of events runs throughout the year, from picnic and play days to some spooktacular fun in the autumn.

With a car parking season ticket, you can escape to the park more often. It costs just £40 for six months and gives you unlimited parking at all Essex Country Parks.

Retreat to the garden and 13th century barns at Cressing Temple, build sandcastles and enjoy the new play area at Cudmore Grove, discover Stick Man at Weald Country Park or rise above it all with Sky Ropes at Great Notley.

The choice is yours. Escape to Essex Country Parks.
